Be careful of pollen even if you don't have hay fever

Updated: Mar 13

In Japan, cedar pollen starts to spread in earnest from around February to April.

Historically, 2025 is an early start for pollen spread, and many Japanese people are affected, with one in two people said to have hay fever.

The reason why many people in Japan wear masks during this time of year is to protect against cedar pollen.

People coming from overseas should be careful even if you are not allergic to Japanese cedar pollen. The amount of pollen that spreads is quite large, and it can even adhere to your car and laundry.

In outdoor parking lots, it is not uncommon for cars to be covered in yellow powder within a few days. If left unattended, it becomes difficult to remove, and in the worst case, it can become stained. Measures that can be considered include washing the car frequently, covering it, and using indoor parking lots.

As for laundry, it is best to dry it indoors or use a dryer. Many general apartments have bathroom dryers, but the drying capacity of electric ones is not very high. If you have space, we recommend a washing machine with a dryer.

At Conceptie, we can also install a washer/dryer with no additional fee. *Depending on the size of the property, it's not possible to install.

If you would like to install our concept or idea in your room, please contact us from the apartment page you would like to rent.
